Under the general direction of the Program Manager, the incumbent will be responsible for coordinating all surveying, wayleaves and land acquisition activities within the department.

 

Key Responsibility Areas

  • Coordinate all surveying related activities for the company; witnessing of surveys, verification of data on plans and follow through to ensure timely receipt of plans.
  • Effect research of Land Titles for properties required for respective projects.
  • Engage property owners on the acquisition of properties and wayleave concessions.
  • Provide information on new acquisitions to update Land Register.
  • Assist in the preparation of building applications.
  • Assist with the processing of all regulatory applications (Neighbour Democratic Council, Town Council & Environmental Protection Agency); from submission to receipt of approval.
  • Conduct site visits with or on the behalf of the Program Manager.
  • Perform other duties that may be assigned to you within the scope of your employment, from an Authorized Officer.

 

COMPETENCY PROFILE:

  • Use of AutoCAD
  • Knowledge of Surveying/Engineering Drawings
  • Ability to analyze and interpret technical procedures
  • Ability to define or identify problem, collect dated, establish facts and draw conclusion
  • Be conversant with relevant law, and regulations of Guyana and GPL policies and rules
  • Be conversant with the Safety Act and GPL Safety Handbook
  • Conversant with ISO 9001 Quality Management System
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills (report writing)

 

Required Qualifications and Experience

  • Technician Diploma in Lands Surveying from the Government Technical Institute or Certificate of Competency (Sworn Land Surveyor’s Certificate) with at least Five (5) years relevant experience.
